NRMA Fireblanket is designed as a early bushfire detection system. These smoke detectors are to be strapped to trees throughout the bush from which data is transmitted and triangulated for early detection and mapping of bushfire location and spread.
Working with Vert Design, I had a hand in the design concept development of this product with consideration of airflow through the device, integration of smoke detection technologies, solar power and information transmitting as well as material considerations and practical considerations of fastening the device to existing trees and structures.
